  • P&O UK Announce name of newest ship joining the fleetin 2022 will be called Arvia, meaning “from the seashore.” Arvia is set to join the fleet in December 2022 and her design will celebrate the stunning views of the ocean and seashore. Sailings will open for sales in March 2021.
  • Swan Hellenic announced that it has introduced valid Covid-19 vaccination as a pre-embarkation medical requirement for all ship’s staff and crew. The vaccination cycle will be carried out at recruitment centres or in the home countries of the crew members in accordance with current local guidelines and approved medical protocols.
  • A major project to upgrade 430mtr of quayside has begun at the Port of Southampton in support of Ro-Ro operations and the new cruise terminal. Included in the work is the installation of 14 new 150-tonne bollards which will enable increased flexibility for positioning large ships at the port.
  • AIDA Cruises is to recommence cruising on 20 Mar. AIDAperla will commence the season sailing around the Canary Islands, with all trips originally planned from 06 Mar up to and including 19 Mar unable to take place due to the German Federal Government’s extension of its lockdown.
  • Seabourn has launched its 2023 World Cruise: Extraordinary Discoveries and 2023 Grand Voyage: Grand Americas, Amazon & Antarctica. Travellers who book and pay in full by 15 Apr can receive 6% early bonus savings for either the 140-day World Cruise on Seabourn Sojourn departing Miami on 6 Jan 2023 or the 79-day Grand Voyage aboard Quest also departing 6 Jan 2023.
    • The World Cruise will see Sojourn cross both the Indian and Pacific Oceans, and traverse the Atlantic along the coast of Africa, stopping at ports including Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth, as well as a number of small Western Australian destinations. Departing on 06 Jan 2023, Sojourn will also visit Papeete, Mombasa, Cape Town, Durban, Dakar, Casablanca, Easter Island, Papua New Guinea, Seychelles, Cape Verde and more.
    • The Grand Voyage will see Quest sail to Central America, the coast of South America, and Antarctica, South Georgia & the Falkland Islands, before making her way back to the Amazon and through the Caribbean. The voyage will round-trip from Miami, and visit a total of 37 destinations and 15 countries.
