  • Carol sent in a great listener Question “I was looking through old photos and found some of my grandfather on board the SS Sontay in 1945. I believe the ship was a converted passenger ship transporting troops back to the UK from Adelaide after World War 2”.
  • “Do you know anything about the ship, line or what was involved in converting a ship for troop use and back?”

    Barry & Chris. Years ago I used to travel on the Cunard liner Sagafjord. She disappeared from the fleet in around the end of the 90’s if I am not mistaken. What happened to that ship?
